A pair of former champions in other promotions could be heading towards the UFC Octagon soon, as Hector Lombard is seeking a future match with Nate Marquardt.
Lombard, the former Bellator middleweight champion, confirmed with “UFC Tonight” recently that he plans to drop to welterweight for his next fight. He is 32-4-1 in his career, but just 1-2 since joining the UFC.
Marquardt, who returned to the UFC after holding the Strikeforce welterweight title, was defeated by Jake Ellenberger in his most recent action. He is 32-12-2.
No date has been set, but both fighters appear down for the bout.
