The Jon Jones-to-heavyweight move has been discussed as much as the Anderson Silva vs. Georges St-Pierre super-fight.
The main difference, though, is that Jones will eventually wind up in the heavyweight division because of his size and youth.
Junior dos Santos, a former UFC heavyweight champion, is expected to compete for the belt again before the year ends against Cain Velasquez. If, “Cigano” were to win that match, he might be facing the UFC light heavyweight champion in the near future, as he told Yahoo! Sports.
“He is taller than me; he has the biggest reach in the UFC. He is a specialist using his knees and elbows,” dos Santos said. “I like him a lot; I’m a fan of his. I like to watch his fights because he plays offensive and ends fights. But if he comes to heavyweight and if the UFC wants us to fight, I will give the best of me.”
Dos Santos and Velasquez are 1-1 against each other, and initial reports have them facing off for a third time at UFC 166.
