Urijah Faber thinks Chris Weidman has what Chael Sonnen was missing

“The California Kid” Urijah Faber is all set to take on the unknown Yuri Alcantara at the UFC’s big debut show on Fox Sports 1 (UFC on Fox Sports 1: #1 Sonnen vs. Rua). A wrestler himself, Faber sees the relentless ground attack of Chris Weidman being too much for Anderson Silva when they go head-to-head at UFC 162 (July 6, 2013) on pay-per-view.

“I feel like Chael was the toughest test for Anderson,” Faber told MMAInterviews.“I’m gonna say there is going to be an upset. Weidman is the guy that has a really strong wrestling background, just like Chael, except for he’s got a real mean streak, and he likes to knock guys out. That’s something that Chael is kind of missing. I think it could be a match-up that surprises a lot of people.”

There you have it. The bantamweight fighter feels that Weidman’s wrestling ability, along with his submission pedigree, will be enough to stop Silva’s dominant run in the Octagon.

They will have five rounds to figure it out. Find out who wins on July 6th at UFC 162: Silva vs. Weidman in Las Vegas, Nevada.
