“Rampage” Jackson has officially been a Bellator employee for a little while now, and while the former UFC star is already signing the praises of his new deal, it remains to be seen when and who he’ll fight in his promotional debut.
Since Jackson has relayed that he’s interested in fighting at heavyweight in Bellator, MMA Mania.com recently asked him about whether he’d be interested in fighting Roy Nelson. “Big Country” recently completed his contract with ZUFFA at UFC 161 on June 15th, when he was badly outgunned by Stipe Miocic and lost by unanimous decision. So, would Jackson be up for a tilt with Nelson? If by chance he were to sign with Bellator? The 35 year-old stated:
I would love to fight Roy Nelson. F–k him up.
That’s as straight forward a response one can get no? In addition to discussing the pro wrestling side of his new agreement, Jackson also made some interesting comments regarding the approach he’s been taking in recent MMA bouts. When asked about his upcoming reality show, and the fact that in the past he’s been careful about what he’s shown film crews, Jackson noted:
“Well, when you think about it, for a long time it hasn’t been no secret what I was gonna try to do. I was gonna come out there and try to knock your head off. I got addicted to knocking dudes out, just punching people for a long time. No more. For my next fight, people are going to be surprised at what I’m doing. That being said, while we’ll be showing plenty of my training and everything, that’s not what the show will entirely be about.”
Later on “Rampage” acknowledged that he’s been working on his boxing, Muay Thai, wrestling and ground game, so perhaps the slugger is planning to show a more diversified attack in his Bellator debut? Sounds like a solid plan.
