The pros make their predictions ahead of the marquee middleweight title fight next weekend (July 6, 2013) between the undisputed champion, Anderson Silva, going against the relentless wrestling and submission game of the younger Chris Weidman.
“I’m gonna pick Weidman, he’s got the tools to put Anderson on his back and beat him up. Of course, Anderson is the man, he’s proven time and time again. I’m gonna go with Weidman for this one.”
“Anderson’s got more experience, but Weidman posses a threat. I’m gonna lean toward Weidman, because this is the opportunity he’s been looking for…I won’t be surprised, though, if Anderson wins. I’m a big fan of Weidman, so I’m gonna go with Weidman.”
“Anderson all day. He’s just gonna outclass him and it’s gonna be a good fight, but I just don;t think Weidman has what it takes to beat him.”
“I’m sure Weidman is paying close attention to what Chael did, and what he had success with. I would like to see Weidman get in there and get the win and shake things up, but I gotta go with Anderson. Look at the track record. He’s fought Chael a couple times, Chael had a lot of success in the first fight but that second fight was a beating. I’m gonna go with Anderson.”
“I like Silva, and a lot of people are surprised. I think Weidman is one of the few guys that has the tools to beat him, but I’m not jumping on the Weidman train like everybody else is, he’s phenomenal, I can see him winning a round, but winning the fight…I don’t see that. Anybody who goes in there with Anderson…that’s dangerous.”
