Josh Rosenthal, Veteran MMA Referee, Sentenced To 37 Months In Jail

Josh Rosenthal will not be referring any MMA fights in the near future.

The veteran third man inside the cage has been sentenced to 37 months in jail following a drug bust. Rosenthal will not be allowed parole after being found to have 1,356 marijuana plants in a warehouse under his name.

Rosenthal last refereed a bout this past May in Utah. He has previously worked several major UFC fights, including many championship ones.

Rosenthal will also face a three-year supervised release and must pay a $100 special assessment fee. The “street value” of the marijuana he had in his possession was over $6 million.

The sentencing, handed down in the U.S. District Court in Oakland, California, was first reported by MMAFighting.com.
