UFC 162 Post-Fight: Vitor Belfort ‘Deserves’ Winner Of Anderson Silva-Chris Weidman

UFC 162 Post-Fight: Vitor Belfort ‘Deserves’ Winner Of Anderson Silva-Chris Weidman

If Vitor Belfort has his way, his return to the Octagon will include the UFC middleweight title being up for grabs.

UFC 162 this weekend will feature Anderson Silva defending his title against Chris Weidman.

While nothing has been confirmed for the winner, Belfort believes his recent string of performances makes him a worthy No. 1 contender.

“The fans and me are excited to see who is going to (be) my next opponent on this Saturday I deserve the winner!” responded Belfort on Twitter to a question asked by UFC president Dana White.

Since a 2011 loss to Silva for the title, Belfort has gone 4-1; his lone defeat during that time was at the hands of UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

However, despite incredible finishes of Michael Bisping and Luke Rockhold, Belfort’s been talked more for his use of an exemption to use TRT. “The Phenom” has previously failed a post-fight drug test in Nevada, and the commission has stated they likely would not grant the TUE for him to use in the state.
