Cub Swanson Wants Fans To Make Him No. 1 Contender

Cub Swanson has reeled off five straight victories, including an impressive finish of Dennis Siver Saturday night at UFC 162.

Now, the former contender in the WEC believes he is ready for a rematch with UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo – or even Chan Sung Jung if he defeats Aldo later this year.

“I’m the No. 1 (contender) now,” said Swanson, during the post-fight show on FUEL TV. “The rankings says something else, but if the fans can support me, I’ll be there. I’m happy and I’m going to take a little time off now, but when I get the call for the next fight, you know I’ll be ready.”

Swanson (20-5) has finished four of his last five opponents since a submission loss in 2011 to Ricardo Lamas. He has fought twice this year, including a decision triumph over Dustin Poirier.
