Brian Stann Retires From Active Competition With The UFC

Brian Stann has decided to embark totally on new career, making his retirement official from mixed martial arts.

Stann will be part of the FOX Sports South college football announce team beginning this fall. He will help call Atlantic Coast Conference football games.

“As far as competing anymore, as sad as it makes me, it’s not the best thing for me as a husband and a father,” said Stann, who announced his retirement on The MMA Hour. “Which by far is the most important thing to me.

“There’s a lot of reasons that have caused me to retire from the sport. But really for me, it’s the best thing, and more importantly for my family right now. I’m still going to be involved as much as the UFC will allow me to be in the UFC, and continuing to be an ambassador for the sport.”

Stann completes his career with a record of 12-6. He won the WEC light heavyweight title and went 6-5 inside the Octagon, and is a well-decorated military veteran.
