Jon Fitch Believes He Has 15 Fights Left In His Career

Former UFC welterweight contender Jon Fitch is currently on a two-fight losing skid that includes a recent submission loss to Josh Burkman at World Series of Fighting 3.

Fitch, though, isn’t even contemplating retirement right now.

Instead, the 35-year-old feels as if he has 15 fights left in his career; taking him right up to 40 years old.

I figure three (fights) a year, that’s at least 15 fights in five years if you’re healthy,” said Fitch, in a recent interview on The MMA Hour. “I think I have 15 fights left in me.”

Fitch (24-6) added that each loss takes a toll on a fighter, but that is “what drives us to keep working and keeps us moving to get better.”

“I’ve dealt with (the loss), but I’ll never be over the loss. It’s just a matter of me putting together a win or two and getting a rematch.”

Fitch currently does not have a fight lined up in the WSOF.
