UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo understands that there will be a time when he can no longer – healthy, or otherwise – make the cut to 145 pounds.
For now, though, Aldo isn’t thinking about his future. Instead, he is fully-focused in on Chan Sung Jung and his title defense at UFC 163.
“I want to focus on my fight, then worry about a potential lightweight move,” said Aldo, during a recent conference call. “I don’t want to take too big of a steal.”
Prior to agreeing to face Anthony Pettis in August, it was reported that Aldo demanded a lightweight title fight with a win over “Showtime.” While he didn’t make mention of that, he instead decided to talk only about “The Korean Zombie.”
“Chan Sung Jung fought his way through it and he deserves to be here,” the champion added. “I respect my opponent and can’t overlook him.”
