Daniel Cormier isn’t quite into training specifically for his October fight with Roy Nelson, leaving the ex-Olympian plenty of time to appear on FUEL TV and UFC broadcasts and call out Jon Jones.
Cormier, who is expected to enter the light heavyweight division following the Nelson fight at UFC 166, continued his verbal war with Jones recently.
For what it’s worth, the UFC 205-pound champ took the mic last week during the UFC World Tour and dismissed “DC” as a quick title-contender to his belt.
“When I hear his quote, it’s like a 16-year old girl. Jon Jones, grow up bud, we’re going to fight regardless of how you feel,” Cormier said. “And when we do and I’m cutting the line and you might as well pull the guard because I’m taking you down.”
Cormier and Jones have been going back-and-forth since late in 2012, and the two appear set for a collision in the near future. Whether that happens for the belt remains on the shoulders of both fighters, as “Bones” meets Alexander Gustafsson next month at UFC 165.
