Alistair Overeem lost his UFC heavyweight title shot when he was knocked out by Antonio Silva.
Overeem will return to the Octagon Saturday night when he faces Travis Browne at UFC Fight Night 26 from Boston.
After being removed from a planned encounter with Junior dos Santos due to injury, the former Strikeforce champion is excited to move on to his next challenge in Browne.
“For me, I am just focused on my own development,” Overeem said. “I am getting back on track. I made a lot of changes in my camp and the process.
“It is important to get a win. I have put 100-percent effort into that.”
As for if a win over Browne gets him right back into title-contention, Overeem said, “that is up to the gentlemen of the UFC to decide what they are going to do next.”
