The UFC Must Make Chael Sonnen-Wanderlei Silva

It really doesn’t matter in terms of rankings.

Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva need to fight.

The UFC often gives its fighters a chance to call-out anybody they want to face next. Well, Sonnen took his opportunity and his bosses need to listen.

Sonnen showed Saturday night that he is still a world-class fighter – just the likes of Anderson Silva and Jon Jones are world-world class.

Maybe Mauricio “Shogun” Rua didn’t properly train for him, but that is becoming the oldest excuse in the book. If you are scheduled to fight somebody, guess what, you train for them as best you can.

Sonnen never makes excuses, he constantly preaches that he will face anybody at any time, and he deserves to call his own shots.

The UFC constantly talks about “stacking” cards, so pair Sonnen and Silva on the season-ending event from Las Vegas. If that doesn’t work, find a spot for them on another card; heck create a card so they can fight. It doesn’t have to be five rounds because it probably won’t go more than a few minutes regardless of who wins.
