“Where you at Georges?”
Those words were uttered by Nick Diaz several years ago.
Now, Matt Brown has decided to use them to call out UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.
Brown finished Mike Pyle in just 29 seconds Saturday night at UFC Fight Night 26 for his sixth straight victory. He has finished five of those opponents since going just 1-4 from 2010-11.
While not currently lined up for a title shot, it is hard to deny six consecutive wins in the UFC these days. Joe Rogan said a crack at the belt should be coming, to which Brown responded, “That’s what I’m saying.”
A knee to the head started the finish of Pyle, who had won four straight prior to the loss. He protested the stoppage, likely because he had been knocked out and didn’t know what happened.
“I know how good he really is,” said Brown, of Pyle. “I had to go balls to the wall, which is how I fight anyway.”
