Fired Up Jose Aldo Wants Anthony Pettis, Title Vs. Title Match

UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo is tired of letting others do the talking for him.

After being called out by Anthony Pettis for a title vs. title match, “Scarface” is serving notice that he is down for the match with the lightweight champ.

“The only things I fear in this life are God and not having food to eat,” said Aldo, in an interview with Brazilian news source Combate. “If a heavyweight wanted to fight me on the streets, would I ask him what his weight was? No.

“So you can schedule this (expletive) and let’s stop this, ‘blah, blah, blah.’ This is the fight we want to watch. Let’s make it happen, Dana.”

Pettis surprised Benson Henderson with a nasty armbar this past weekend, earning his first title inside the Octagon. “Showtime” was originally set to face Aldo early in August before a training injury cancelled the contest.

Aldo fought – and defeated – Chan Sung Jung instead, but did suffer a foot injury in the win. Pettis is also looking at an extended break after suffering a knee injury in his win, which could set the table for the champion vs. champion match.
