The next Ultimate Fight Night is coming on Wednesday, and they sure are coming in rapid succession. This particular card isn’t nearly as stacked as the first two, but sometimes these cards can wind up being sleepers. Let’s take a look at one of the fights airing on the main card.
Marcos Vinicius vs Ali Bagautinov
Marcos Vinicius was a contestant on TUF Brazil. He had an unimpressive showing to be honest; after getting into the house with a sloppy TKO victory, he then lost his first fight via unanimous decision. When the teams were shuffled he got another chance a sub, and he lost via submission. He was victorious is his UFC debut, earning a Knockout of the Night bonus against Wagner Campos. He then was knocked out himself in his next bout against Johnny Bedford. This brought his overall record to 20-4. Vinicius is now up against the mystery man – Bagautinov.
Ali Bagautinov is a UFC newcomer, this will be his first fight outside of his native country of Russia. He has an overall record of 10-2. Interestingly, his first eight opponents ALL have names that end in the letter “v”. Isn’t that interesting? Bagautinov has a very extensive background in martial arts competition. He holds a gold medal in Sambo. He entered combat Sambo and had a few fights. He was a silver medalist in the Greco-Roman wrestling. He has a pankration background, Jiu Jitsu background, hand-to-hand background, you name it he has done it. It’s one hell of a resume. Let’s jump to the prediction:
I’m going to call Ali Bagautinov in this fight. I think he has all the tools to completely dismantle a fighter like Vinicius. I wouldn’t be surprised to see an early finish either.
