Rumors had been circulating that the World Series of Fighting promotion was looking to purchase smaller organizations globally and that they had been in talks with Aggression Fighting Championships to purchase the company and extend their reach into Canada. Bleacher Report was first to break the news that World Series of Fighting had officially purchased and dissolved the now defunct AFC.
Top MMA News informs fight fans that the first World Series of Fighting Canada card is rumored to take place this December, possibly at the P.N.E Forum in Vancouver, though Edmonton or Montreal are also under consideration. The targeted main event is to be between Anthony “Rumble” Johnson and Mike Kyle while Nick Newell and Chris Horodecki may also make appearances on the card.
World Series of Fighting now has their hands in the American, Canadian, and Central American markets. A new multiyear partnership with IMG Media has also been made in hopes of assisting the promotion’s global expansion plans and will help to put on shows in the United Kingdom, Canada, and other areas across the globe. The organization still has a strong partnership with NBC Sports in the United States.
