Bellator MMA bantamweight champion Eduardo Dantas has suffered an ankle injury and will not compete until 2014, the promotion announced recently.
Dantas has two contenders lined up, as he is set to face Rafael Silva. The winner of that will face the winner of Joe Warren-Travis Marx.
“Eduardo Dantas is one of the most explosive Champions in MMA, and while this injury is a setback, we all expect Eduardo back, better than ever in 2014,” said Bellator Chairman & CEO Bjorn Rebney.
Dantas claimed the title with a win over Zach Makovsky. The 24-year-old successfully defended it vs. Marcos Galvao.
