Michael McDonald made a statement when he finished Brad Pickett earlier this year.
If the youngster can do the same vs. Urijah Faber in December at UFC on FOX 9, he’ll likely secure another shot at the bantamweight title.
McDonald, who lost to interim UFC champion Renan Barao recently, has admired Faber and others for quite some time. However, he’s found a way to get past that admiration once the cage door closes.
“I had a lot of time to break that barrier from fan to fighter,” said McDonald, during a recent press conference. “I’m not just a fan anymore…these are my opponents and I’ve been looking at them like that for a long time.”
As for the actual match, McDonald said you can “expect fireworks.”
