Cain Velasquez On Injuries Suffered Vs. Junior Dos Santos: Sore Throat, Raspy Voice

UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez didn’t mention any possible broken jaw during a recent interview with UFC Tonight.

Velasquez, who finished Junior dos Santos last weekend, talked fine and mentioned only a couple of minor injuries during the segment.

“I’m a little sore,” he said. “My throat is sore and I’ve got a raspy voice.”

When the medical suspensions were handed out by the Texas commission, Velasquez was suspended for a possible broken jaw. It remains unclear if the fighter did suffer such an injury.

Velasquez is expected to face Fabricio Werdum in early 2014 in his next title defense. No date has been set for that encounter.
