Bellator CEO On Tito Ortiz: He Will Be Back

Bjorn Rebney, the CEO of Bellator MMA, made it known this past weekend that Tito Ortiz will recover from his neck injury.

Ortiz was slated to compete in the main event of Bellator’s first pay-per-view against Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, but a fractured neck suffered late in training cancelled the contest. The former UFC light heavyweight champion has stated his desire to fight again, and Rebney confirmed that during the post-fight press conference.

“He’ll be back,” he said. “Right now, we just have to worry about the fracture in his neck healing to 120-percent. Once it’s healed, he’ll be back.”

Rebney added that the neck specialist Ortiz saw stated “it’s not the kind of injury you can’t come back from.” Previous reports had Ortiz returning in a number of months, like to some kind of training.
