Faber Submits McDonald in Dominant Fashion

Urijah Faber further established his current position as being the best UFC fighter to never win a title by defeating Michael McDonald tonight in Sacramento. Faber looked strong throughout tonight’s fight as he hurt the younger fighter in both the first and second rounds. The second round danger was too much for McDonald to survive, as Faber pounced with a vicious volley of strikes that felled McDonald. Faber would quickly slap on a guillotine choke to force a stop to tonight’s fight.

Faber now firmly cements his status as the number one contender in the bantamweight division. Faber now awaits the winner of February’s bout between champion Dominick Cruz and interim champion Renan Barão at UFC 169. If the winner of that bout is delayed in anyway, yet another rematch could take place with Raphael Assunção waiting in the wings.
