Jose Aldo’s Manager Seeks Possible Catch-Weight For Anthony Pettis Bout

The manager for UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo believes his expected encounter with UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis should come at a catch-weight.

Andre Pederneiras told Ta na Area that a fight at 150 pounds “would be interesting for both.”

“They would keep the belts and do the fight everybody wants to see,” he said. “Nobody wants to take the other’s title, we want to see the fight and do a great show for everybody.”

If it went down at 150, that would allow each fighter to keep their respective titles. Aldo would not have to cut as much as he does for featherweight, and Pettis would have to slim down a little.

“It’s going to be a tough fight like all the others,” Pederneiras said. “I always say that the next fight is always the toughest. It’s going to be just like another fight.

“I think that Aldo has all the weapons to beat Pettis. I don’t see many advantages for Pettis.”
