Jon Jones Not Happy With Way UFC Is Promoting Him

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones doesn’t believe he sees eye-to-eye much with the company he competes for.

Jones, who is set to face Glover Teixeira later this year at UFC 172, recently talked about the lack of a push he is getting from the promotion – especially compared to that of Ronda Rousey.

Rousey, the UFC female bantamweight champion, has landed several movie roles and cover spots on national magazines. Jones, though, is sponsored by Nike and Gatorade, giving him a large audience to promote in front of.

“We don’t always see eye-to-eye with the UFC, so I don’t know if they are always necessarily pushing me,” said Jones, in a recent interview with “I do know that they are pushing Ronda really hard and she’s gotten a lot of great opportunities.

“I don’t know what they’re going to do, but I’m pushing myself all the time, so I’m not really worried.”

Everyone remembers when Jones crashed his car following a night of partying, and the time he declined a short-notice fight with Chael Sonnen that effectively led to the UFC calling of a pay-per-view for the first time.

Jones did take to Twitter later Wednesday, offering up the following in a form of an apology to Rousey.

“You know I got nothing but respect for you and your work, just using you as an example,” Jones posted on Twitter. “Let’s keep killing it.”
