Derek Brunson has signed a new four-fight contract with the UFC, the fighter confirmed recently via Facebook.
Brunson (11-3) was finished by Yoel Romero in January, dropping him to 2-1 inside the Octagon. He four four times for Strikeforce, where he went 3-1.
Brunson’s UFC victories include a submission over Brian Houston and a decision over Chris Leben. Along with the loss to Romero, he was also finished at the hands of Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza in 2012 and lost a split decision to Kendall Grove that same year.
The former three-time NCAA Div. II All-American wrestler started his MMA career with nine straight wins. There has been no announcement of when Brunson will return to the Octagon.
