Lyoto Machida Shows Dana White What He’s Made Of

There was a time when UFC president Dana White called into question Lyoto Machida for turning down a short-notice title fight.

After Machida’s decision victory over Gegard Mousasi Saturday night at UFC Fight Night 36, the boss appears to be pleased with “The Dragon.”

“It was a great fight!” White posted on Twitter. “Lyoto looked (expletive) awesome against someone NASTY”

Earlier in the fight, White said “Machida is so fast at 85.” He appeared to use his speed to stay a step ahead of Mousasi, a former Strikeforce champion.

White previously mentioned that Machida could move to the front of the line at middleweight despite having just two fights in the division with a win over Mousasi, likely based on his track record in bouts at light heavyweight.

Machida has defeated such fighters as Rashad Evans, Randy Couture, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Dan Henderson.
