Ivan Menjivar Joins Unemployment Line After UFC Release

The UFC has released Ivan Menjivar, according to a report by his manager through MMAFighting.com.

Menjivar (25-12) has dropped his last three, including two decision defeats. He was 4-1 from early 2011 until 2012, including wins over Azamat Gashimov and John Albert via submission.

“I will be feeling out offers and discussing with Ivan and his head coach and doing whatever works best for him,” said Mitch Mayberger, his manager. “He is a gem of a human being and been a pleasure to work with so I will always be by his side.”

Menjivar entered the UFC after a 2010 decision loss to Brad Pickett with the WEC. He started his pro MMA career in 2001, winning his first four fights before a TKO loss to Georges St-Pierre in 2002 in Canada.
