Chris Weidman Out Of UFC 173, Title Fight Moved To UFC 175

Chris Weidman has been forced to postpone his scheduled UFC middleweight title fight with Lyoto Machida due to a minor injury, officials announced Monday.

Weidman and Machida, the original main event for UFC 173, will now take the headline act at UFC 175 on July 5. Both cards are set for Las Vegas.

Weidman (11-0) was originlly expected to meet Vitor Belfort Memorial Day weekend, but Belfort was removed when the UFC and the Nevada Athletic Commission moved to ban TRT.

Machida (21-4), a former UFC light heavyweight champion who moved down to 185 pounds recently, was declared the No. 1 contender after besting Gegard Mousasi.
