Ramsey Nijem Wants To Be First Middle Eastern UFC Champion

ufc fight night 39

Ramsey Nijem walked out to UFC Fight Night 39 a crowd favorite, and left a winner, defeating Beneil Dariush via first round TKO Friday at UFC Fight Night 39.

Nijem, a Palestinian American, embraced the cheers and landed a left hook that floored Dariush. He continued to punish him, leaving the previously unbeaten fighter a bloody mess.

“I want everybody to be scared of me,” he said. “He took a lot of damage and kept on fighting. I have a lot of respect for him.”

Nijem (9-4) has won two straight and is 5-2 in his last seven overall after finishing second on The Ultimate Fighter.

“I am here to bring a title to the Middle East,” Nijem said. “I want a main card, bigger names. Let’s keep going. I will fight whoever.”

The loss was the first for Dariush as a professional.
