Tim Kennedy Shines Bright In Win Over Michael Bisping

Tim Kennedy

Tim Kennedy earned two wins on Wednesday night at The Ultimate Fighter Nations Finale.

The Army Ranger bested Michael Bisping, taking him down five times and out-striking the Brit to earn a decision victory. Kennedy and Bisping, who had several heated verbal exchanges in the build up to the fight, seemed to end their beef after the battle.

“What happened, happened,” Bisping said, shaking Kennedy’s hand. “It’s done. It’s history. Congratulations.”

For Kennedy, the win improves him to 18-4 overall and 3-0 inside the UFC. He has now won four straight and is 7-1 in his last eight, with the lone loss coming to Luke Rockhold for the Strikeforce title.

“I finish fights, (but) I didn’t finish the fight (Wednesday),” he said. “I hit him with my best shots. My hat’s off to him and I respect him.”

Kennedy scored two takedowns in the first and two more in the fifth to seal the win. He connected on 76 of 141 strikes, including 51 significant strikes. Bisping (24-6) didn’t attempt a takedown and connected on just 29-percent of his significant strikes.
