Josh Barnett Anxious To Fight Again After Recovering From Knee Injury

Josh Barnett

Former UFC champion Josh Barnett has recovered from a knee injury and is anxious to get back inside the Octagon.

A report on “UFC Tonight” recently stated that Barnett suffered an injury in February, but is now cleared to return. He also shot a movie, “Absolution,” with Steven Seagal in Romania to pass the time while recovering.

Barnett (33-6) lost out on a chance to compete in a No. 1 contender match for the UFC heavyweight title when he lost to Travis Browne in late December. Browne went on to fight Fabricio Werdum this past weekend and was defeated.

While he is not one for picking opponents, Barnett did mention on Twitter that a rematch with Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira would be acceptable.

Barnett lost to Nogueira in 2006 while both were competing in PRIDE via decision. He went on to win eight consecutive after the defeat before falling to Daniel Cormier in 2012.
