Jim Miller Takes Care Of Yancy Medeiros Early At UFC 172

ufc 172

Jim Miller wasted no time in taking out Yancy Medeiros, tying the UFC lightweight record with his 13th victory at UFC 172 Saturday night.

Miller locked up a guillotine choke and didn’t let go. Medeiros didn’t tap, either, and eventually went out cold.

With the win, Miller (24-4) tied Gleison Tibau for the UFC division record. He has won three of his last four, with the other being a no-contest.

Originally, Miller was scheduled to meet Bobby Green. However, an injury to Green knocked him out and Medeiros stepped up from the prelims to face him.

“I guess it’s the night of the guillotines,” Miller said, in reference to the number of submissions. “He stepped up to fight me on a week notice. He’s a tough kid and I appreciate him stepping in.”

Despite Medeiros never tapping, Miller knew he was going out, as he told the referee the fighter was done.

Next for Miller? Well, he wants any of the fighters ranked ahead of him, mentioning the likes of Khabib Nurmagomedov, Josh Thomson, TJ Grant and Rafael dos Anjos.
