UFC 172 Post: Jim Miller Interested In Taking Down Khabib Nurmagomedov

Khabib Nurmagomedov believes he is the No. 1 contender to the UFC lightweight championship. That belt, though, and the role of challenger are currently tied up through December.

So, where does that leave Nurmagomedov? Jim Miller has the answer.

Miller defeated Yancy Medeiros Saturday night at UFC 172 and stated during the post-fight press conference that he would gladly take a fight with the unbeaten Nurmagomedov.

“I love that fight,” Miller said. “I know how to strike, how to grapple and I sure know how to wrestle. I love that one.”

Miller (24-4) improved to 13-3 in his UFC career and tied the record for most wins at lightweight with Gleison Tibau. The 30-year-old is now unbeaten in his last four, winning three and having another ruled a no-contest after Pat Healy failed his post-fight drug test.

UFC president Dana White wasn’t ready to sign the fight with pen and paper, saying only that things still needed to be “figured out” once they return home to Las Vegas.
