Junior Dos Santos Looking For Quick Recovery, Return After Injury

Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos released a statement via Instagram on Tuesday, revealing his sadness about missing out on competing in Brazil against Stipe Miocic.

Dos Santos suffered an injury in training that forced him to exit a planned main event fight with Miocic at The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 3 Finale later this month in Sao Paulo.

So far, the UFC has yet to announce what they are going to do with Miocic or the main event role for the card.

“Since I’m in UFC I was dreaming about to fight in Brazil but few weeks to have this opportunity unfortunately I got injured and pull out of the fight,” dos Santos wrote. “Now my focus is on recover from this injured to come back ASAP giving my best inside the Octagon to honor all the support that I’m receiving from you guys.

“I apologize for this to all of you guys, to the UFC and also to my opponent Stipe Miocic.”
