Middleweights Trevor Smith and Tor Troeng will collide in Ireland later this year, as officials added the bout to UFC Fight Night 46.
Set for July 19 from The O2 in Dublin, Ireland, the event is expected to stream on UFC Fight Pass. Conor McGregor meets Cole Miller in the main event, while Gunnar Nelson-Ryan LaFlare and Brad Pickett-Ian McCall are other key fights lined up.
Smith (11-5) was briefly rumored for a bout with Chris Camozzi in July at UFC 175, but the promotion decided to stick with Camozzi vs. Bruno Santos.
The 33-year-old earned a split decision victory over Brian Houston this past January, but was finished in 45 seconds at the hands of former No. 1 contender Thales Leites in April. He is 2-4 in his last six fights overall, including losses to Ed Herman and Tim Kennedy.
Troeng (16-5) is a veteran of The Ultimate Fighter and had his five-fight win streak snapped by Rafael Natal last September. “The Hammer” is 1-1 with the UFC since appearing on the reality series, earning a submission win over fellow TUF fighter Adam Cella.
Back in 2010, Troeng lost via submission to Leites while competing at SC 6: Lion’s Den. He is 12-2-1 over his last 15 career fights.
