Dan Henderson Not Sure What’s Next, But Not Looking At Retirement

ufc 173

Dan Henderson suffered his first submission loss since 2008 to Anderson Silva, as Daniel Cormier choked him out at UFC 173 Saturday night.

For Henderson, the defeat dropped him to just 7-6 inside the Octagon and 30-12 overall. He is 1-4 in his last five fights overall now.

Despite the loss, though, Henderson made it known following the fight that he doesn’t plan to step away even at 43 years of age.

“I’m not done yet,” said Henderson, to a loud ovation from the Las Vegas crowd. “I am still gonna compete. I love this sport and love the support. I will continue until I can’t.”

After earning a second victory over former UFC champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, Henderson was hoping to defeat Cormier and possibly cash in on a title shot he earned back in 2011 with his first win over Rua.

“I am disappointed in my performance,” he said. “My plan was to beat ‘DC’ (Saturday). I have to figure out and move forward.”
