UFC Fight Night 41: Magnus Cedenblad Finds The Choke Again

ufc fight night 41

Magnus Cedenblad knew there was just seconds left in the second round of his fight vs. Krzysztof Jotko Saturday at UFC Fight Night 41, so he clinched on a guillotine choke and didn’t let go.

With a second remaining in the round, Jotko tapped, giving Cedenblad (11-4) his second submission win inside the Octagon.

The plan for Cedenblad, a training partner of Alexander Gustafsson, was to stand and finish Jotko on his feet. When that didn’t happen, he resorted to Plan B.

“My stand-up didn’t work, so I had to use my wrestling,” he said. “The plan was to knock him out. It wasn’t my best performance, but I won.”

Cedenblad reassured his fans that his “striking is good, it just didn’t work out (Saturday).”

Last August, Cedenblad latched in a guillotine choke against Jared Hamman and got the first round finish in under a minute. All total, he’s earned six submission wins.

The loss was the first of Jotko’s career, dropping him to 14-1 overall.
