TUF 19 Finale: Eddie Gordon Makes It Clean Sweep For Serra-Longo

Eddie Gordon trains with UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman, Al Iaquinta, Aljamain Sterling and others at Serra-Longo in New York.

So, when the opportunity arose to compete on The Ultimate Fighter 19, Gordon jumped. Following a decisive victory over Dhiego Lima Sunday night at The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale, Gordon can call himself a champion.

Gordon (8-1) rocked Lima with a flurry moments into the opening round, earning the finish with some intense ground-and-pound. He was awarded the title of TUF winner and a new Harley-Davidson for his performance.

“I knew going in it was going to be a war,” Gordon said. “He is a great fighter, but he’s not Chris Weidman. I am lucky enough to train with the best camp in the world. He got me ready for this. I don’t know where I would be without him.

Weidman, who successfully defended his middleweight title on Saturday, was in attendance to see his high school friend get his hand raised inside the Octagon.

For Lima, the brother of Bellator champion Douglas Lima, he is now 9-2 overall. He will likely head to welterweight for his next fight.

“He is a tough dude and like a brother to me,” said Gordon, who was on Frankie Edgar’s team with Lima during the season. “I love him to death.”
