Chael Sonnen In Serious Trouble With The NAC

chael sonnen

All that money Chael Sonnen saved from his UFC career might come in handy sooner rather than later.

According to a report by MMAjunkie.com, the Nevada Athletic Commission has fined Sonnen up to $250,000 for his failed drug tests. Sonnen retired from MMA following news of the second such results.

A total of five banned substances were found in his system during two tests, and the NAC has given Sonnen 20 days to respond to the matter and plan an appeal.

No comment was received by Sonnen or his managerial team regarding the issue. You can view the letter sent by the NAC to Sonnen on June 27 by clicking here.

Following the second failed test, both the UFC and FOX Sports cut ties with Sonnen, relieving him of his hosting duties for a number of FOX Sports 1 UFC shows, including “UFC Tonight.”
