Roy Nelson didn’t make any excuses for his loss to Mark Hunt Saturday at UFC Fight Night 52.
“Just got caught,” Nelson wrote on Facebook. “That’s what happens in the (heavyweight) division.”
Nelson suffered his first stoppage loss in the Octagon and just the second of his career despite going up against numerous former UFC champions. “Big Country” was also dealt a knockout loss in 2008 against Andrei Arlovski.
The former Ultimate Fighter winner is just 1-3 in his last four, with the other two losses coming to Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic. Prior to being stopped by Hunt, his other five Octagon defeats all came via decision.
