Kimbo Slice, Ken Shamrock Set To Meet In June

Kimbo Slice

Kimbo Slice and Ken Shamrock will headline a Bellator MMA event this June from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, officials announced Thursday.

Set for June 20, the bout will air live on Spike TV.

Slice (4-2) and Shamrock (28-15-2) were set to collide seven years ago under the Strikeforce banner, but Shamrock was removed after suffering a cut. Seth Petruzelli stepped in as a replacement and bested Slice.

“I remember how excited I was when this fight was originally announced, and how disappointed I was when it didn’t come to fruition at that time,” Bellator president Scott Coker said. “I’m very happy we were able to put this one together because I know these guys still have a lot of unfinished business to take care of, and when they do, it will be sometihng special.”

Slice has not competed in MMA since a loss to Matt Mitrione in the UFC after competing on The Ultimate Fighter. Instead, he switched to boxing, where he has won seven in a row.

Shamrock is a member of the UFC’s Hall of Fame.
