UFC 184: Tony Ferguson Climbs The Ladder

ufc 184

Tony Ferguson stated in the pre-fight interview for UFC 184 that he was all out of bubble gum and needed to kick some ass.

Well, he did just that, earning his fifth straight victory with a commanding first round submission over Gleison Tibau.

The former Ultimate Fighter winner has now finished four of his last five, improving his Octagon mark to 8-1 overall. His TUF coach, Brock Lesnar, was in attendance and met up with him before the bout.

“Thank you to Gleison Tibau for the opportunity to fight you and taking the fight on short notice,” Ferguson said. “I wanted to give (the fans) a show. Thank you for showing up and sticking with us.”

He’s now scored submission wins over Tibau, Abel Trujillo and Mike Rio, stating, “I saw him wobble and it was snap-down city, give me that neck.

“I knew where to hit him,” he added. “Its not big game; just go in and give the best.”
