UFC 185: Challenger Has Power Of Poland Behind Her

ufc 185

Joanna Jedrzejczyk is filled to the brim with confidence.

The unbeaten female strawweight will challenge Carla Esparza for her title Saturday night at UFC 185 in the co-main event.

After picking up two Octagon wins, Jedrzejczyk (8-0) was selected as the first challenger to Esparza (10-2), who won the title on The Ultimate Fighter.

“I was born for it,” Jedrzejczyk said earlier this week (thanks to MMAjunkie.com for the quotes). “I’m going to be a champion. They know already that I’m going to do it.”

Jedrzejczyk has had more than 70 muay Thai fights to her credit and feels that she also has one other thing going for her: her nationality.

When asked why she’ll defeat Esparza, Jedrzejczyk simply said “Because I’m from Poland, that’s why. I’m a Polish girl. That’s why.”
