UFC 185: Henry Cejudo Imposes His Will On Past Contender

ufc 185

Making his flyweight debut for the UFC, Henry Cejudo imposed his will on recent title contender Chris Cariaso, earning a decision victory at UFC 185.

Cejudo (8-0), a former U.S. Olympic gold medalist, was unable to get the finish, but he easily dominated Cariaso for 15 minutes.

Despite the performance being a strong one, Cejudo said he needed to do more.

“I was fatigued a little bit, but I’ll get better with every fight,” he said. “I have high standards. It is what it is.

“I want to knock people off and get that fight bonus.”

Cejudo’s just the third former Olympic gold medalist to compete inside the Octagon. He made his actual UFC debut at bantamweight after failing to make weight earlier last year while attempting to cut to 125 pounds.

After besting Dustin Kimura, Cejudo said he is ready for another top challenger.

“Give me a Top-5 fight next,” he said. “I’m ready. I’m here to prove myself.

“I am here to win gold in the UFC.”
