UFC 186: Michael Bisping Back In The Win Column

ufc 186

For Michael Bisping, taking care of business at UFC 186 vs. C.B. Dollaway was all that mattered.

After suffering a submission loss to Luke Rockhold last November, Bisping knew he needed to get back in the win column. He did that, earning a decision over Dollaway.

Bisping (26-7) has alternated wins and losses now in his last eight, going 4-4 with defeats to Rockhold, Tim Kennedy, Vitor Belfort and Chael Sonnen.

“I know more than anybody that I’ve had my setbacks, but I’m still working,” said Bisping, who has 12 middleweight wins inside the Octagon. “I’m still working. I have the potential and I’m not going anywhere. I want this more than anybody and I will be champion one day.”

The Brit landed 80 of 207 total strikes, including 75 significant ones. More importantly, though, he defended eight of 10 takedown attempts by Dollaway, a standout college wrestler.

“C.B. is tough, this was a hell of a fight,” Bisping said. “I did think it would be easier, but this is the UFC and he is a Top-10 guy.”

Dollaway landed 49 of 134 strikes, but fell for the second straight time and is now 15-6 in his career.
