Rampage Jackson Excited To Show Off His New Skills

Former light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson made his triumphant return to the Octagon this past weekend at UFC 186, downing Fabio Maldonado.

Jackson (36-11) had to fight through the legal system to get back on the card, having just days to finalize his preparation for Maldonado after being allowed to compete.

“I was in the best shape I have been in,” Jackson said. “My skills were sharp and I had great energy. But, I’ve got to give it up to Maldonado – he has a head of steal and wouldn’t go down.

“I can’t wait to get back in the Octagon to showcase some of the stuff I have been working on.”

That includes an array of kicks, featuring head kicks, which Jackson admitted he “just learned like 10 weeks ago.

“They didn’t land, but they gave him something else to think about,” he said.

Jackson has now won four in a row since first leaving the UFC, as he went a perfect 3-0 with Bellator MMA. That promotion had filed an injunction to keep him off the Montreal card after Jackson severed ties with them.
