UFC Fight Night 66: All Frankie Edgar In Manila

Urijah Faber

Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar has scored four straight wins since a loss to Jose Aldo for the featherweight title.

Now, after adding Urijah Faber to his resume at UFC Fight Night 66 Saturday, Edgar wants another shot at the belt.

“I want that title,” he said. “Dana (White) isn’t here, again. He’s ducking me cause he owes me a title shot.”

Edgar used his effective wrestling to control Faber, handing the former WEC champion his first non-title fight loss. While he didn’t get the finish he was seeking, “The Answer” was pleased with the overall performance.

“Urijah’s tough and a guy I looked up to,” he said. “It was an honor to fight him. He is a legend in our sport and us lighter-weight guys owe it to him.”

For Faber, the loss snapped a two-fight win streak. He was making the move up to featherweight from the bantamweight ranks where he fought twice for the UFC title.

Edgar was successful on 4 of 16 takedown attempts, but out-struck Faber 117-62.
