UFC Fight Night 66: Neil Magny Does It Again

ufc fight night 66

After a pair of 2013 losses via decision, the future of Neil Magny inside the Octagon seemed bleak.

Now, the alum of The Ultimate Fighter is one of the hottest fighters in the world, winning his seventh straight Saturday at UFC Fight Night 66.

Magny (15-3) has stopped each of his last three opponents, adding Hyun Gyu Lim to the list with a second round TKO. Despite getting hit hard in the opening minutes, Magny recovered and dominated, controlling his opponent with wrestling and ground-and-pound.

“He caught me hard and rocked me for a bit, but I just had to keep my composure,” Magny said. “After the first takedown, I realized he didn’t want to be there. So I had to get him there and go for the finish.”

Since his loss to Seth Baczynski two years ago, Magny has topped Gasan Umalatov, Tim Means, Rodrigo de Lima, Alex Garcia, William Macario, Kiichi Kunimoto and now Lim.

Asked who he would like next, Magny mentioned Rick Story, who has a bout scheduled with Erick Silva for later this year.
