UFC 187: Andrei Arlovski Makes Heavyweight Statement

ufc 187

Andrei Arlovski and Travis Browne are friends and former roommates. But after their battle at UFC 187, you wouldn’t know it.

The two Top-10 ranked heavyweights went toe-to-toe, flooring each other numerous times before Arlovski finished it and earned a big-time win.

Arlovski, a former UFC heavyweight champion, connected on over 60-percent of his shots and dropped Browne several times.

“I got caught, but I still had to keep going,” Arlovski said. “I still have a lot of work.”

Arlovski suffered a nasty calf muscle injury earlier in the week, and Joe Rogan stated there was talk he might not be able to fight. From the looks of the four minutes of action, there was no doubt he wanted to compete against his friend.

“It was hard, very hard,” Arlovski said. “But this isn’t gonna affect our friendship. I love him like a brother.”

With the win, Arlovski now has nine knockouts inside the Octagon. After the decision was made, Browne told Arlovski to “never say sorry” for the finish and to “go get” his title shot.
